Craters

Most of the craters on the Earth have been worn away over time through the action of the wind and the rain, however the Moon doesn't have these atmospheric events and the craters have remained the same since their creation, apart from the occasional disturbance from other impacts. The lack of any change in a crater on the surface of the Moon makes it very hard to work out its age.
