The Moon's diameter is around 3500 km (around 1/4 of the Earth's diameter) and its mass is only an eightieth of the mass of the Earth. The surface of the Moon is unchanging, unlike the Earth which is actively sculptured through plate tectonics and the weather with its wind and rain. The Moon is a solid body with no active molten core, it has no plate tectonics or weather to cause surface change and as such even the foot prints from the moon landings should remain forever.
The surface of the Moon is littered with geological features; most of these are the result of collisions with other bodies in space in the past.
The Moon was not always solid. We can see mountain ranges and areas that appeared to have formed from molten lava during the early stages of the Moon's life.
